# What does the error message 'No geometric information found in file' mean?

If you don't select your 3D model when exporting your file, the file will be empty. It can be the reason why we don't find geometric information in your file. You can check our different [tutorials](https://www.sculpteo.com/en/tutorial/) to learn how to export your file correctly in various CAD software. 

There's another case when this message can appear. We sometimes have an issue reading a file created with Sketchup. If you used Sketchup and get this error message, try exporting your file on a collada .dae version.
